Welsh Mountain Torwen Rare Breed Double Sheepskin Rug
A unique and long brown double sheepskin rug, manufactured by sewing together two 'Torwen' Badger Face Welsh Mountain breed rugs. This variant of the breed has a distinctive white stripe down its belly that can be seen in the white edges to this rug - two on one side, and one on t'other. One end is a slightly darker brown, thick and woolly to touch but also soft. The other is slightly lighter in colour and finer in texture with grey kempy strands. A perfect rug for a Welsh farmhouse or rocking chair.
The UK has more sheep breeds than any other country - over 60 and counting - and many more cross breeds. Glencroft British sheepskin rugs are 100% British and entirely by-products of the meat industry - that means they are from British sheep, tanned in a British tannery, and hand finished in our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.
Richard hand finishes 100-200 sheepskin rugs every week (watch how here), with most going to specialist independent retailers across the country. We randomly pick a few out for sale online every few weeks. Once they're gone they're gone!
